In February 2013, UN-appointed Commission of Inquiry concluded ICC is appropriate venue to pursue fight against impunity in Syria. “If members of Council continue to be unable to agree on a measure that could provide some accountability for ongoing crimes, credibility of this body & of entire Organization will continue to suffer.”

The United Nations General Assembly has elected Argentina, Australia, Luxembourg, the Republic of Korea & Rwanda to serve as non-permanent members on the Security Council for 2-year terms beginning 1 January 2013. In vote for UN Security Council, does ICC (International Criminal Court) membership & strong support favor election (see Argentina, Australia, Luxembourg)? Rwanda is not member of ICC & ran unopposed from African Group.
