Gang Rape of Free Media in our Western Democracies?

Another much wiser man, Ben Franklin on the eve of the American Revolution, stated that a society willing to sacrifice liberty in order to attain security in the end will have neither.

In Hunt for “Spy Snowden” is US Losing More than Secrets?

By, Ambassador Muhamed Sacirbey
Debate will increasingly have to take on an international character whether in the framework of an institution such as UN or some yet unidentified effort of global citizens who find space for free & open flow of information increasingly strangled.

Blog Report: DOES US OWE APOLOGY TO MUSLIMS? By Ambassador Mo
At least not over a cheap, base film produced by a hateful Christian pastor based in Florida. As a film critic, one might ban the film, but US tradition is to maximize free speech. I would as a Muslim find it troubling if US Government encroached any further into limiting free speech after recent efforts to silence WikiLeaks or prosecute persons under theory of material support for terrorism.

Blog Report: CAN WE TRUST OUR GOVERNMENT(S) ON “WAR ON TERROR”? By Ambassador Mo
Why perhaps US & global citizens feel need for Wikileaks. Further Confirmation Bin-Laden Killing is Kill Mission? While there is a self-serving statement that it was not purely a kill mission, such assertion is put forward only to provide some deniability that planning & execution may have been contrary to US & international law.

Blog Report: BIN LADEN KILLING – DID WASHINGTON LIE TO UN & WORLD, By Ambassador Mo
While few doubt that Osama bin Laden “deserved killing,” nonetheless, an execution of an unarmed person who put uImagep no resistance did convince UN Human Rights officials to ask whether operation by design as well as outcome was a “kill operation” in violation of the rule of law & international standards.

Blog Report: ASSANGE ASYLUM – ECUADOR DIPLOMATICALLY OUTMANEUVERS UK, By Ambassador Mo
Has London created more favorable platform for Assange & Latin American adversaries of UK by threatening to disregard diplomatic status of Ecuador’s embassy? Claiming obligation to deliver Julian Assange to Sweden ignores higher regard accorded diplomatic law & facts of this case (where Assange is sought formally for questioning & not prosecution & there is some concern extradition process is being itself abused). –MORE–

Blog Report: JULIAN ASSANGE & CIA SECRET PRISON IN ROMANIA, By, Ambassador Muhamed Sacirbey
Romania wasn’t only outlaw outpost, & I can only confirm that I have received credible reports of similar operation in Bosnia & Herzegovina in last decade. Failure of either US Government or relevant European states to investigate/deliver any real accountability for secret prisons opened/operated under effective control of the CIA brings into doubt commitment to rule of law & transparency.
