Diplomat Artist Buzz on Photography to Counter Hunger with Theme “the family meal”

The UN’s World Food Programme (WFP) has sponsored a photography contest as means to counter global hunger. This year’s theme being “the family meal.”

10-15-WB-RuralWUN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka said that all over the world, gender inequality in land & other productive resources is intrinsically related to women’s poverty & exclusion. Women’s rights to access, use, control, & ownership of land & other productive resources are essential to reverse this.

“From the armchair to the stadium, we are calling on fans to join us in supporting the Million Meal Challenge to help nourish bodies & minds of those who face a daily challenge of malnutrition & starvation,” said IRB Chairman Bernard Lapasset.


“The opening of the Rafah crossing for humanitarian aid provides a major opportunity to scale up aid delivery to Gaza & needs to be sustained,”
says WFP. “WFP has provided emergency relief from onset of conflict & will continue its food deliveries to Gaza to reach people affected by conflict.”

Africa’s Trail of Tears. – Many refugees walked for weeks, even months, through treacherous bush to reach Cameroon through more than 30 entry points along a 700-kilometre stretch of border. UNHCR has dubbed it “a journey of starvation & death.”
