Prince Zeid & I were among the original signatories to the Rome Statute, having spent several months establishing the institutional and legal foundation for the ICC. We worked together to insure sexual violence in conflict & gender based crimes were addressed fully within the Rome Statute & by future court.

I met with Ambassadors &/or Delegations of Security Council members providing limited but very troubling reports of something beyond mere armed conflict & more indicative of grave violations of international humanitarian law. Dr. Haris Silajdzic (BiH’s FM) & I had debated whether we should use the word “genocide” & “concentration camps.” –More–
