On 29 November, 2012, more than 130 countries (138) voted to recognize Palestine as a Non-member Observer State, a clear victory for President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority.  Courtesy of a Facebook group member from “Tenth Wall Reconciliation Palestine – Israel,” yesterday’s UN General Assembly member voting record follows.

The 138 states which approved Palestine’s bid for statehood are:

The 9 states which rejected Palestine’s bid for statehood are:

Canada, Czech Republic, Israel, Marshall Islands, Micronesia (Federated States of), Nauru, Palau, Panama, and United States of America.

The 41 states which abstained from voting on Palestine’s bid for statehood are:

Albania, Andorra, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Colombia, Croatia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Estonia, Fiji, Germany, Guatemala, Haiti, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malawi, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Poland, Republic of Korea, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Rwanda, Samoa, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Togo, Tonga, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and Vanuatu.

(Equatorial Guinea, Kiribati, Liberia, Madagascar, and Ukraine were all absent)

Israel’s Prime Minister used visual props to demand UNSC draw a “red line” below which Iran’s Government would not be allowed to cross in alleged development of nuclear weapons. Much of world though is also anxious about lack of resolution to Israel/Palestine divide viewing Netanyahu’s Government as at best being tardy & worst at having crossed at least one red line in undermining “Two-State Solution”.
